As to your other point - I don't think there was specifically a gendered intention to this specific article. It was simply part of a series of similar articles that was presented as useful and thought provoking. It just happened to be on that site. Not every article there is stamped "ONLY APPLIES TO MEN" (fewer than you would think are).
